I have extensive experience assessing function and the impact that physical, emotional, and cognitive impairments have on a person’s ability to fulfill his/her roles and responsibilities. My clinical experience includes hospital, rehabilitation facility and community based, with specific experience working with individuals living with chronic pain, traumatic brain injury, orthopaedic, neurological, emotional, and cognitive disorders. I have assessed and provided direct intervention to achieve improved function for paediatric, adult and geriatric aged clients. I have also facilitated and coordinated community based rehabilitation services aimed at re-integration into home, school, work and community. Additionally, I have specific expertise in the preparation of future care need and costs analysis since 1989 and have qualified as an expert in the courts of Ontario in both this and in Occupational Therapy. I am a Certified Life Care Planner and am a provider of the Assessment of Motor and Process Skills (AMPS), which is a standardized observational evaluation used to assess the quality of a person's performance in activities of daily living tasks. A team approach is used at RMI to ensure availability of supports and quality of service. I provide discharge support services enabling a seamless transition from hospital to home. I have been a guest lecturer at the University of Toronto and University of Western Ontario, Occupational Therapy Programs. I am an active member on the Ontario Society of Occupational Therapist's Auto Sector Committee.
